The land within the NEC tenures is freehold land. A total of six landholdings are covered by EPC650. The majority of the resource within EPC650 is within two properties, Retreat and Elimatta. To date NEC has been able to carry out its exploration activities with the cooperation of these landholders.

Native Title has been extinguished over most of the exploration areas; however an area of unextinguished land exists within EPC 650. The area is within the Iman No 1 Native Title Claim which covers some 14,000sq km of this part of Queensland. NEC is operating under Queensland's Native Title Protection Conditions to conduct exploration over this part of EPC650.

Cultural heritage surveys have been conducted over EPC650 and the Native Title area specifically and no site of cultural significance has been identified.

NEC will be required to enter into an agreement with the Native Title Applicants prior to the grant of a Mining Lease.
